Same Same… Nothing Different

It’s been a while since I last wrote and there’s a few reasons for that.

Firstly – nothing has happened to me or Husband… to be honest, nothing since February. And not much has happened since my last post.

Secondly – I have continued with restricting myself off social media (Facebook, Instagram in particular) for my mental health. I feel like topping myself after a minute of reading comments, or seeing what’s on my feed… with everything that is going on with the world (politics, COVID.. humanity in general), I have opted for the life of ignorance for now. Plus, we watched the Netflix movie doc “The Social Dilemma” which was interesting and somewhat alarming.

[Facebook has a feature where you can set a timer per day so that when you hit the limit, it will lock you out and you have to log back in again. Even though I have been averaging less than an hour per week, I set myself a 10 minute daily timer.]

Lastly – I have been crafting the past weeks. And I can’t type or scroll while I do it since I need to use both my hands. Crafting has also helped me stop snacking. I have gained way too many COVID kilos since February.

For the sake of saying something for something 🙂 – if I were to talk about something I am currently obsessed with, it would be audiobooks!

I have not physically read a book for… urgh.. I can’t even remember… textbooks when at Uni? Nahhhh, just kidding. Noone read those ridiculously expensive boring fire starters…

I currently have 255 books in my Audible library. I average about a book a day. I told you I was obsessed. Before I sat down to write this, I downloaded approximately 65 books. I am even listening to one as I type this (“Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business” by Neil Postman).

I can average a book a day because I listen to them throughout my entire day – while I cook, clean, craft, shower… the only time I don’t listen to a book would be while I swim, or watch tv, and I listen to the books at 1.5x to 2x speed.

My favourite books have been the Mr. Monk series (based off the TV show, and not the other way around… for once!) and the A Haunted Guesthouse Mystery series. I have listened to some other great series, and non-series books but these are the ones that stand out the most.

Hopefully next time I write, it will be something interesting or exciting.

Until then, Au revoir.

Thank you so much for reading this. I hope that you’re reading this while you are staying safe, and well.
